Phillipa Lawrence used colourful textiles to draw people's attention from things that we overlook. She did a commission in Wales and she loved the idea of wrapping dead trees and concealing them.
I went to Katie Gaudion's show at the RCA summer 2010 I was really impressed by her work I was talking to her and she was explaining about her practice. Astrid Krogh ,breaking the boundaries between art, technology and textile design she creates light installations using traditional techniques to craft her textiles

I remember really well that experience ,from the outside I didn't know what to expect.I new nothing about his work-why choose this council estate which was obviously on the verge of being demolished? At the entrance we were asked to put on gloves and boots -What was this all about ? Then you go in it was like entering a cave, the beauty of it was shocking -it all looked so natural, except that Elephant and Castle isn't know for its caves. The range of blues and their reflections were added to the rust copper and greenish water filling the holes in the floor.you want to touch and feel the floor. You want to touch and feel the various textures: rough, sharp, wet and mouldy and constantly being transformed as the crystals grow and gradually take over.I always enjoy the unconventional small exhibitions in non traditional venues. Which offer more the sense than their more formal counterparts. It all goes to show how dark, dingy space can be transformed into something fantastic.it was very inspiring...
